Two levers people use to support strength -- protein intake and resistance work -- explained label-first, with no bro-science and no promises the label can't back.

When people talk about strength training and protein in the same breath, the conversation usually fills up with promises. This piece does the opposite: it stays with what the label and the general guidelines actually support, and stops there. The honest version is simpler than the hype, and more useful.
Start with the frame. GLP-1 medications reduce appetite, which is factual and not something we are here to sell or judge. What that means in practice is that protein intake can be harder to hit on less food, so people commonly aim to keep it up. Resistance training is one of the ways people work on keeping their strength up. Those are the two levers this article is about -- protein and training. Neither is a cure or a treatment for anything, and your prescriber owns the medical side of your plan. We just grade the label and the math.
What "enough protein" means as a number
The general nutrition guideline most people work from is roughly 0.7 to 1.0 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight per day. For a 160-pound person that is about 112 to 160 grams. That is a range, not a rule, and it is where a lot of the confusion starts -- the number depends on your body, your activity, and your clinician's read of your situation. Why label math matters more when appetite is lower

Protein quality, in one honest paragraph
Not all protein on a label is equal, and this is a label fact rather than a health claim. A complete protein contains all nine essential amino acids in useful amounts; whey, dairy, eggs, and soy are complete. When you do choose a protein product, third-party testing is the one line worth reading. Certifications like Informed Sport or NSF Certified for Sport mean an independent lab has checked what is in the tub against what the label claims.
